Provincial policy

Manitoba

Last checked October 29, 2026

Manitoba has no provincial outdoor lighting statute that we could find. Protection comes through Manitoba Parks policy: Spruce Woods Provincial Park became the province's first RASC Dark-Sky Preserve on September 4, 2022. Park lights are fully shielded, low intensity, and amber, and most are off overnight or on sensors. Measured sky quality is 21.5 to 21.7 mag per square arcsecond.
