Nucla and Naturita, Colorado
Nucla and Naturita, neighboring towns in far western Colorado, became an International Dark Sky Community in 2021. The canyon country along Highway 141 in either direction reaches Bortle Class 1 darkness. The towns sit roughly between Telluride and Moab, which makes them a quiet night stop on a Four Corners road trip.
