Ketchum, Idaho
Ketchum, Idaho is an International Dark Sky Community certified in 2017, and was the first place in the state to earn that status. The city requires street and building lights to be shielded and aimed downward, with separate rules for holiday lighting. It is a town rather than a park, so there are no gates or hours; the city must keep up dark sky events and education to hold the designation.
