Bisbee, Arizona
Bisbee, a former mining town in Cochise County, Arizona, became an International Dark Sky Community in 2024. Volunteers worked about six years on the application, and the city is converting municipal lights to dark-sky compliant fixtures. About 5 miles north of the Mexican border, Bisbee has mostly fair weather for Milky Way viewing; the Bisbee Dark Skies group is the contact for local events.
