Northern lights could reach New York and Idaho this weekend as speedy solar wind races toward Earth

A coronal hole on the sun fires high-speed solar wind toward Earth. The northern lights may be visible in New York and Idaho if moderate geomagnetic storm conditions occur on November 7 and 8. Minor storm conditions are expected between November 6 and 8, according to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.
