Hera probe gets 1st good look at asteroid system clobbered by NASA's DART mission | Space photo of the day for Nov. 6, 2026

The European Space Agency's Hera spacecraft got its first close-up look at the Didymos binary asteroid system. The image, released on November 5, 2026, shows the main asteroid Didymos and a sliver of its moonlet Dimorphos. The Didymos system was previously impacted by NASA's DART spacecraft in September 2022.
