NASA's Artemis II crew members have annotated a photo of the Moon with notes on impact flashes they observed, providing valuable insights into the lunar surface. This observation is significant for sky-watchers as it highlights the dynamic nature of the Moon's surface and the potential for witnessing similar events in the future. The crew's ability to detect these faint bursts of light from 46,000 miles away demonstrates the exciting possibilities for lunar research and exploration. Astronomers can look forward to studying the Moon's surface for similar impact flashes sparked by rocky fragments.
