Wyoming

Wyoming has no statewide lighting code. Wyo. Stat. 37-16-202 (2003, effective July 1, 2003) requires every electric utility to offer a tariff letting customers choose outdoor lighting designed to minimize light on unintended areas and help preserve dark skies, with rates not subsidized by other services. Use is voluntary. Teton County regulates shielding and lumens in its own land development rules.

Municipal codes
- Teton County (opens in new tab): Land Development Regulations 5.3.1 require total cutoff of light at less than 90 degrees, a light source hidden from view, and a maximum lumen allowance tied to the amount of site development. Exterior lighting must be reviewed with building permits.
