Washington has no general outdoor lighting law. The only lighting statute we found is Chapter 344, Laws of 2023 (ESHB 1173, effective July 23, 2023): new utility-scale wind farms with five or more turbines must apply to the FAA for aircraft-detection lighting, and existing ones must apply by January 1, 2028. Installation is due within 24 months of FAA approval.
