# Dark Sky Law: Rhode Island

Rhode Island requires state-funded outdoor lighting fixtures to conserve energy and, for fixtures over 3,200 lumens, limit upward light to no more than 2% of total output in the 90-to-180-degree zone above horizontal. It applies to state facilities, not private or municipal lighting generally.
