Quebec has no single provincial outdoor-lighting law, but the Mont-Megantic region runs Canada's most detailed lighting regulations. Three regional county municipalities, Sherbrooke, Haut-Saint-Francois, and Granit, jointly limit outdoor light color temperature to 2200K or less, cap upward light spill at 1 to 2.5 percent, and impose evening curfews (10pm or 11pm) on non-essential outdoor lighting to protect the Mont-Megantic International Dark Sky Reserve, established in 2007.
