Massachusetts has no enacted statewide light pollution statute as of September 2026. A Dark Skies bill (An Act to Improve Outdoor Lighting, Conserve Energy, and Increase Dark-Sky Visibility, S.3145/H.3164), which would cap color temperature and require shielding on publicly funded lighting, passed the Senate in mid-2026 and was still advancing through the House as of August 2026.
