Indiana has no general light pollution statute. The lighting-related statutes in the DarkSky policy database deal with glare toward adjacent properties and roadways, lights on private property near roads, airport restricted zones, and light-mitigating technology on wind turbines. Beverly Shores became an International Dark Sky Community in 2014 after expanding a lighting ordinance first adopted in 1983.

- Beverly Shores, IN (opens in new tab): The town council first adopted outdoor lighting rules in 1983 and expanded them to qualify for International Dark Sky Community status, announced June 24, 2014. Residents raised $8,000 to replace street lights with dark-sky-friendly fixtures.
