# Dark Sky Law: Colorado

Colorado law requires state-funded outdoor lighting projects to consider energy conservation, glare, and light pollution, and a 2022 program (HB22-1382) funds grants to help communities pursue International Dark Sky designation. There is no general statewide restriction on private or municipal lighting; that is left to local ordinances.
