The Pink Moon is the traditional name for this month's full moon. The Moon is near its closest approach to Earth, making it appear slightly larger and brighter than an average full moon (a supermoon).

Best viewing tip

Best viewed low on the horizon just after moonrise, when the Moon looks largest due to the well-known 'moon illusion.'
