Totality lasts up to 6 minutes 23 seconds over Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula, making it one of the longest eclipses of the century, but only a shallow partial bite of the Sun is visible from far eastern Canada and Maine.
Best viewing tip
If you are in Maine's Bold Coast or Canada's Atlantic Provinces, look for a small notch taken out of the Sun near sunrise; everyone else in North America will see nothing.
