Debris from Halley's Comet produces a shower that is strongest in the tropics (up to 50 per hour) and yields roughly 10-30 per hour from mid-northern latitudes, with a new Moon in 2027 providing excellent dark skies.
Best viewing tip
Look toward the eastern sky before dawn; southern US states will see more meteors than northern Canada because the radiant sits low on the horizon there.
